The following people contributed to the initial research and design proposals for The Future of Filming in Downtown Los Angeles: Sarah Lorenzen, JD Dowling, Saad Ahmad and Konstantinos Chrysos. Our work on this project began during our post-graduate education in Metropolitan Research and Design (MR+D) and Design (MR+D) a program at the Southern California Institute of Architecture. Our urban and economic research consultants Michael Speaks and David Bergman, and Jeffrey Inaba were faculty advisors on work developed by this team while at the MR+D.
The short film The Future of Filming in Downtown Los Angeles produced in the spring of 2005 for the UIA Conference in Istanbul was written and directed by Sarah Lorenzen, and edited by David Hartwell. Team members JD Dowling, Saad Ahmad and Konstantinos Chrysos also contributed to the film.
As the project goes forward Sarah Lorenzen will serve as team leader and direct the daily activities of the team and coordinate the scheduling of meetings and interaction with film industry representatives, business owners, downtown residents and city officials. David Hartwell, design principal of Plasmatic Concepts, will Art Direct the graphics and interactive media. Michael Speaks and David Bergman will continue to serve as economic and urban advisors. |
